Are you getting the sleep your body needs to perform?
Let me ask you something that most masters rowers won't admit out loud: Are you sleeping as well as you used to? Or have you noticed that sleep just isn't what it once was - waking up at 3am, struggling to fall back asleep, or feeling tired even after a full night in bed? Maybe you're lying awake wondering if this is "just getting older." Maybe you've tried everything from blackout curtains to meditation apps. Maybe you're noticing your recovery from training isn't as rapid as it used to be.
Here's what I've learned: It's not just age. It's not inevitable. It's that your body's sleep needs and patterns are changing. Understanding this is the key to better rest and recovery. The good news? Sleep is completely manageable when you know what's actually happening.

Quick question: Do you track your sleep?
Not just noting whether you slept well or poorly, but actually monitoring sleep stages, REM cycles, deep sleep percentages, and all those metrics your smartwatch provides? Most masters rowers do. And that's exactly why many of them are more anxious about sleep than ever before.
Elite athletes understand that sleep data is a tool-not a report card. They know which metrics matter for performance, when to pay attention to the numbers, and when tracking becomes counterproductive. They understand that waking at 3am isn't always a problem that needs fixing. The secret isn't getting "perfect" sleep every night. It's understanding what your body actually needs and when to act versus when to relax. In fact, some of what you think is "bad sleep" might be your body's normal restoration process. The key is knowing the difference-and having strategies that work with your changing physiology, not against it.
In this comprehensive session, you'll learn:
We'll address how sleep needs change as we age, how hormones play a vital role in rest and recovery, and what to expect as you continue to age. Everyone is different and sleep is a multi-layered process with many variables to consider-from changing hormones to chronic pain to major life worries like ageing parents.
When sleep tracking is useful versus when it creates more anxiety than answers There are a variety of ways people can track their sleep. You'll learn where data can be genuinely useful versus when it becomes anxiety-producing.
This workshop is specifically designed for masters rowers over 40 who are noticing changes in their sleep patterns and want to understand what's happening, what's normal, and what strategies actually work for better rest and recovery.
If you're waking up during the night, noticing changes in your sleep patterns, or wondering whether your sleep is affecting your recovery and performance, this workshop is for you.

THE BOTTOM LINE
Most masters rowers spend hundreds of hours training their bodies and almost zero hours understanding what happens when they sleep. Then they wonder why they're waking at 3am. Why their sleep tracker shows poor scores. Why they feel more tired despite "doing everything right."
Your training demands good sleep. Let's make sure you're getting it. Can you afford to keep struggling with sleep when better rest means better recovery, better training, and better performance?
Training season is here. Don't let poor sleep hold you back.
