It’s confusing trying to train when you don’t know if you’re on the right track. Many rowers try to follow plans meant for younger athletes or piece things together from the internet.
We’ve created masters-specific race programs that are clear, age-appropriate, and tailored to your goals, so you can train with confidence and get results.

Our masters rowing race program is intelligently designed to align with the racing calendar, whether you're gearing up for 1k sprints in the northern hemisphere summer or tackling 5k head races in the southern hemisphere autumn.
Sprint races (World Rowing Masters Championships, Henley Masters, US Rowing Masters Champs, Australian Masters, NZ Masters)
Long distance head races (Head of the Charles, Heads of the River London.
PLUS indoor rowing key events – World Rowing Indoor Championships, CRASH-B and US Rowing Indoor Championships.
And if your key event isn’t listed here, get in touch and we’ll advise you how to adjust the program for your big race.
When we have seasons overlapping or there are major differences when peak events occur we include special notes or programs.
Some of our customers live in the Southern Hemisphere; some in the Northern.
The program from May to September has a 1k focus – with peaks in May/June (South) and August/September (North); October moves to longer races through to March (North) and then rolls back to 1k.
For rowers in the global South, January to May is a 1k focus.

Faster Masters is a great way to be connected to rowing. There is something for everyone whether its sharing the ups and downs of training and racing , gathering information on learning to row, or joining the amazing webcasts topics such as nutrition and managing the ageing process. Many thanks to Rebecca for her great service to the sport.
This amazing group of rowing experts has been invaluable in my growth as a master sculler and sweep rower. They provide wonderful insight and bring together experts in all areas to ensure that their overall program is top-notch! I can't say enough about Faster Masters!
Faster Masters is fabulous. They helped Hanlan Boat Club (Toronto) with winter training a few years ago, and I have personally done their sculling intensive (self paced) program as well as some of their indoor workouts. As a 50-something woman, I particularly appreciate the work they are doing to champion Masters rowing worldwide. Rowing offers fitness, camaraderie and a reprieve from negative news cycles. The world needs more rowing and Faster Masters will make it happen.
I rowed faster in 2024 and 2025 thanks to Faster Masters Rowing. I look forward to what I'll accomplish when the new indoor rowing season starts May 1st. All simply by following the monthly training plans for 1,000 and 2,000 meter goals.
30 years ago, I fell in love with rowing because it gave me a place where I belonged and a community of people I could connect with. Three Olympic medals later, that sense of belonging is still what keeps me coming back. And there are few people who can create community among masters rowers like Rebecca can at Faster Masters Rowing. Even if all you do is subscribe to the newsletter, your life will be better for it. You belong here.
